Thumbi View Lodge - Cape Maclear

We greatly enjoyed our king room with garden view. the location of Thumbi View Lodge is amazing, just a 10-15 minute walk from Danforth Yachting. the service was friendly and the food was great.

This place is perfectly located near the waterfront with great views of the island.

The staff are accommodating and the room was very affordable with garden view.

Location short walk to Also right in the heart of the village so the locals are all coming and Chembe/Cape Maclear and whole Malawi. 15 minutes walk from Lake Malawi National Park. Budget, fashionable room with an own bathroom and a walk-in shower and towels. Large and savoury breakfast and a wide array of goodies: D

The fully-stocked bar served drinks that made me forget all my worries. The stunning pool was the perfect spot to sip cocktails and admire the sunset. The golden beach was a paradise within the national park. I had a blast on the catamaran cruise with the entertaining boatman, Morris.

I absolutely adored everything, but if I had to nitpick, I suppose it would be that the Axa bus leaving daily was just too convenient for my taste. Who needs an easy way to get around?

The breakfast had a great variety of options and the food was delicious; all the staff here were super friendly, the central location was convenient, and it was less than a 5-minute walk to the lake.

Thumbi View Lodge is situated in a prime location right on the shores of Lake Malawi, offering breathtaking views of the lake. the lodge is conveniently located within walking distance of several restaurants, allowing guests to explore the local dining options. the rooms are modern and clean, providing a comfortable stay. Guests can also enjoy various lake activities, such as snorkeling and kayaking, making it a perfect destination for water enthusiasts.

The lodge has been undergoing construction and renovation, which may inconvenience some guests.

As a solo traveler, I loved the friendly staff, amazing pool, and stunning sunset views over Lake Malawi. the hot showers and clean rooms were a bonus.

Wow - the staff here are absolutely amazing, so friendly and welcoming! The location is mind-blowingly beautiful right on the lake, perfect for enjoying the stunning sunsets. Breakfast is super tasty and keeps you full all day, plus the lunch menu is great. The pre-ordered dinners are jaw-droppingly good! There are tons of activities to do and plenty of other food options nearby. They even offer packed lunches and breakfasts on request. The swimming pool is a lifesaver since the lake isn't ideal for swimming. The solar geysers ensure nice hot showers, especially in the lake-facing rooms. an absolutely amazing place, comfortable, homely, and welcoming. A big thank you to Noeleen and Chris for the unforgettable transfer, your generosity and good company will stay with me forever.

The general areas were well-maintained and provided comfortable seating options, making it easy for senior people like myself to find a cozy spot to relax. Additionally, the lodge had convenient accessibility features that catered to the needs of senior guests, ensuring a comfortable stay.

I would have appreciated more assistance from the young staff members during my vacation.
